After some thorough discussions, the admins have made an unanimous decision on switching to a cheaper hosting. This decision was made because of our limited funds are unable to sustain our current default Teamspeak 3' server hosting. Thanks to our Sith dad, Darth Vader Terminus has seek for a better solution in this matter and so we move.

We will keep current sildota2.teamspeak3.com active for another month with a minimum fee to let our regulars and newcomers(?) that missed this moving announcement. So you won't miss it unless you do not have awareness like you do not have map awareness in Dota 2.

SIL Season 2 – Update #2

We have been delaying announcement regarding SIL Season 2 and what not. Reborn gave us, the guild a pretty tough time to manage everything under a guild. Reborn has yet implemented (or will never be) but council has decided the following changes.

POSTPONEMENT ON SIL SEASON 2

Unfortunately we have to and need to postpone SIL Season 2 until further notice or at least until Valve decides to implement guild system into the client itself. The decision was made by members of council as we thought to keep quality, we need the guild system indefinitely. No mistake on it. As mentioned, we won't have a exact date or time to start SIL Season 2 but there will be more time for you to prepare your team. Find your true teammates and battle on.

Canceling? No, we will have SIL Season 2 but not now, until we have proper facility from our beloved developer Valve. At this moment, we still accept registration but everything will be on hold without approving or disapproving. In the meantime, please take this opportunity to prepare and form a team. We expect a lot of you joining.

NO GUILD, NO LOBBIES

Fret not, guild communication will temporarily replace with our Steam Group chat. We find this is the most efficient way than other as you only need Steam Overlay to navigate without having to exit or alt + tab for chatting. Everything done within Steam.



How to join? I believe most members should be in the Steam Group and you will be able to find us through the Steam Group page (find "Enter chat room") or via Friend list under "Groups" (and look for "SEADota Inhouse league Guild" after you joined the Steam Group). If you wish to use in-game chat, we also suggest "SILGG" but ultimately, Steam Group chat will be better as we embrace the no-guild situation in Dota 2 Reborn client.

REBORN SHAPES SIL
With Valve's announcement last night, SIL will be making plans as we move to Reborn (Source 2). We would like to inform SIL Season 2 participants to download Reborn as soon as possible. Please take extra precaution as it might changes your gameplay experiences, get used to it.

It is safe to say we will be having this tournament over at Dota 2 Reborn (Source 2 engine) client. The issue we are having currently will be the missing of 'guild' system'. We have tried to contact Valve or get answer but we have yet to get a solid answer. We will not know what will happen but we will move forward as it changes. No worries on our part!

Valve's statement

With The International behind us and the Majors just around the corner, we are excited to have the world start playing Dota in the brand-new Source 2 engine. Within the coming weeks, the main client will receive the Reborn Update. Moving away from the Source 1 engine soon will allow us to better focus our efforts entirely on Source 2 in preparation for various upcoming tournaments. There are still a few features that will need some work when the update is released, but we plan to finish them quickly. Expect the weeks that follow to focus on ironing out issues, refining the dashboard and iterating based on your feedback. Afterwards, we'll begin shifting our attention toward the in-game UI, where we plan to redesign the HUD and work on a variety of other in-game features.

Today's update to Reborn contains various bug fixes and improvements, as well as a large number of backend changes that result in a very large one-time download. Now would be a good time for everyone to start downloading the Reborn update, as you will not need to download it again when the main client receives the update in the coming weeks.

If you do not have the Reborn update installed and would like to get a head start on it now, launch the Dota client and head over to the Play Tab to get set up. All of your items are now in the Reborn client, and after today any new content will be added directly to Source 2 only.

The Wait is Over – SIL Season 2

Dota or Dota 2, a game that requires a full 5 men cooperation to bring out the best result at the end of a match. When one fall, we will have the other 4 to back you up. A game of teamwork, no one should ever be left behind in the battlefield.

A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY...

...a crouton was baked. He lived through this childhood like the average crouton. However, he did not really like the environment around him as it was a bit too toxic. He decided he could not take it any more and ran away from the city to search for an environment that was less toxic, an environment that he could enjoy and fit in. He thought to himself, "I need a new name for people to recognise me and so that the people from the city cannot recognise me." He found an old man while wandering and asked him "Hey you, give me a good name!," the old man looked down at his food he was eating and replied to him "Croutons." He liked the name that was given to him, though he decided to add his favourite number at the end of the given name and thus he named himself "Croutons5." He continued wandering after yelling his new name. At last, while wandering for days on the lost grounds of /new he found a place that is potentially enjoyable for him.

After a few days of walking around, meeting and socialising with people in the new town he thought he would potentially enjoy, he decided to stay. His first encounter with the townspeople was when he stumbled upon nine other townsmen that decided to challenge each other to a friendly match of five versus five. They needed one more so they could start the match and Croutons5 wanted to join with them so he approached them, "Can I play?," he asked. All of the nine townsmen looked up to him, thought to themselves "This new kid has to be good, he has the name of a food for god's sake." before saying yes to the new kid. The new kid was stunned, he did not think they would want him in their game. Before the game, Croutons5 and the other four townsmen discussed their plan for the game and concluded that the new kid should support the four of them so they picked him a character that was pretty cool even though the character consumes innocent children in order to be useful in the early stages of the game.

He tried so hard and got so far, and in the end it mattered which resulted in their victory. Every single member on the team knew they underestimated the kid, they complimented him for his spectacular supporting. The new kid was flattered upon hearing the praises of his teammates. Later that night, he thought to himself that he needed a place to sleep. Thus, he asked around where he could get a place to stay at and the townspeople redirected him to the third TownSpeak client. The third TownSpeak client told him that there were no available places to stay at. However, they found out that there was an abandoned lair that was available to stay at and that he did not need to sign up or pay for it. Croutons5 took off immediately prior to taking the town map, heading his way towards the abandoned lair.

As he heads his way towards the Croutons5, he notices the sound of the trees in the breeze. He hadn't realised how much jet fuel is not hot enough to melt steel beams. Enjoying the wind in the air, he finally arrived at the abandoned lair. Upon arriving, he thought of something he thought no one would ever think of, a cafe. He set off to the nearest local store, bought four mangos and placed it in his backpack. Why mangos? Croutons5 was a smart one, he had planned this way ahead of time, since a mango will grant +1 health point regeneration while you have it in your backpack, four mangos would grant +4 health point regeneration at the cost of 150 gold each, which makes this a total of 600 gold. He noticed there was a ring which costed around 875 gold, he asked the counter what it does. The counter replied saying that the ring grants +5 health point regeneration while you have it in your inventory to which Croutons5 replied, "Why should I buy one ring that costs 875 gold that grants +5 health point regeneration when I can buy five mangos that would cost me 750 gold, grant +5 health point regeneration AND give me the energy enough for do my power?" The counter was speechless.

All right, since this is going to take too long for a blog post I'll skip the timeline and head over to after over half a year and a season one tournament. When the interested tell tales of SIL Season 2, none are sure of which are true. In whispered tones they say there would be no SIL Season 2. Others hear that SIL was dead. Still others believe that there would be a SIL Season 2. Silently in the darkness, the councils watched over the interested and schemed something to stop all these misunderstandings. The councils gave them a season 2 of Fame & Fortune; they say the interested ones can win some shiny arcana or so. Still, the council felt this was not sufficient, they decided to write some ridiculous lore so the announcement to SIL Season 2 would sound cool. And so, let us all reborn once again, as five.

In short, SIL Season 2 will be separated into two parts, and they are...

GROUP STAGES
Group Stages will be preceded by an Open Qualifier PROVIDED that there are more than 20 teams joining. In the event of an open qualifier, FIRST 18 teams registered go straight through to the Group Stage, with the remaining teams going into a sudden match to fight for the last 2 spots.

Group Stage will be in a Round Robin format, with each team playing against all other teams in a Best of 1. The 4 teams with the lowest score at the end of the group stage get eliminated.



MAIN EVENT
The Main Event will be divided into two phases:
Phase 1 will have the 9th - 16th teams playing in BO1 match-ups, with the losers immediately getting eliminated and the winners proceeding to the Lower Bracket of Phase 2.

Phase 2 will separate the top 8 teams from the Group Stage into the Upper and the Lower Bracket. All games in Phase 2 will be Best of 3. Losing in the Upper Bracket sends a team to the Lower Bracket, and losing in the Lower Bracket eliminates a team.

The top 4 teams in the Group Stage will go straight to the Upper Bracket, and the 5th - 8th teams go straight into the Lower Bracket, with their matches being against the winners of Phase 1.

SIL Season 2 will be played in Captain's Mode, from 3rd October 2015 throughout 2 months, from Phase 1 after open qualifier (if any). Open Qualifiers will starts with the condition of more than 20 teams registered, on 23th September 2015. The teams' match ups will be randomized and being posted over at our Facebook and subreddit as soon as possible. Open Qualifier matches normally from 7PM onwards. Full group stage/main event schedule will be announced soon after we are done with it.

Q: Can we still participate after 20 teams being registered?
A: Yes. If your team is not the first 18 team registered, you will be entering our sudden death Open Qualifier.

Q: Captain's Mode or Captain's Draft?
A: Captain's Mode. As the meta matured, we decided it is 'balanced' and this was the members' choice.

Q: Is this tournament being streamed?
A: Yes, it will be available on our Twitch.

Q: Will you stream on Youtube Gaming?
A: Most probably not, but we never know.

Q: What is the prize pool?
A: It is a secret for now. Fret not, there will be something!

Q: Can we go Rosh to get the cheese?
A: Make sure to have wards outside the Rosh Pit before you go in, else you'd probably get echo-slammed and the other team will probably win first place.

CHAPTER ONE
In a land far away, there was a war. A war of greed, pride and wrath amongst fellow men and women, even the children have fought in the war. The war has been going on for 3 years and countless lives have been taken, the war's ruler Nardos was defeated by a special group known as the SIL and brought peace to the land, however their story does not end....

The land of Yotka, there was a small town called, Salem, where the SIL took refuged from the on-going war between Yeagues of Yegends and HotS and kept distant from any form of violence.

"Dude, walao ah, we can't start lynching random people." Dennis stated towards Stephen, "We can't rule over the people of the town, it's unjust!"

"Look, we need to stop these random murders and death threats we get from someone." Stephen replied, "This is the only town we have, we must protect them..."

"But we cannot protect the people from something we cannot see..." Nathan hushed "None of it would matter if we don't know what really is going on."

"I have an inkling..."Syamil guessed, "Remember where we had to deal with Nardos terrorizing the land? maybe he had a son!"

"Impossible." a small voice stated from the corner of the alley way, a shadowy figure slowly walked up to them.

"Oh Red. You're finally here!" Bunchana cooed.

"Sorry, been busy with the bar, how is everything?" She asked.

"Stephen wants to lynch more people." Justin stated, reading through documents of records and looking for a suspicious case "We have this dude, named DodgeViper who has been hanging around the tavern too much and has been a little rowdy."

"He's like an emotional Adrian." Gerry exclaimed as he wrote down more of the meeting.

"Well we cannot stop just yet... We need to find several people to face the stake." Gabo exclaimed "We cannot let the people know we have no control over the situation."

"He's right, we need a way to show the town we can protect them once more!" Castro cheered as he stood up and embraced Chris.

"I'll agree if we find more evidence, we cannot just pick randomly." Chris replied as he assisted Alex with their issues in the System of Salem on Alex's laptop.

"Dude, the system is recording nothing but green scores, and none of the reds." Alex declared, confused he refreshed once more.

"What are greens and reds?" Red questioned.

"It's basically a record of who has been bad or not, green means accepted and okay, red means nono." Nathan explained "So far, Adrian has done two strikes, and two other strangers we've yet to come across."

"Hang on.... There is a new face." Alex stared onto his screen "Riven..."

"Oh hey he finally entered the Land." Dennis smiled "He's okay. Don't worry if anything happens, I'll deal with it."

"We trust you with your judgment, Dennis." Bunchana nodded and leaned on Gabo's shoulders, feeling relaxed, and calm.

A car pulls up the main entrance of the Town, seeing a face so familiar yet so different.

"Riven!" Dennis yelled "It's Riven!"

Excited, the group walked towards the main entrance granting him passage to the town and it's wonders.

"So this is Salem?" Riven smiled at the group "Nice to meet you, I am Riven Sodran."

The group looked confused, as if they have seen him before, however they couldn't remember. Riven stared at the group, as they huddled up.

"He looks like..... Nardos..." Syamil hushed to the group.

"Kind of." Gerry agreed "But we cannot really say for sure."

"Coincidence?" Stephen asked

"He looks innocent" Red smiled and walked over "I am RedQueen, and here are the leaders of the Town, Chris, Gerry, Alex, Bunchana, Gabo, Nathan, Stephen, Syamil, Justin, and Dennis. And that is Castro, Chris's bitch."

"Whom are those two loud people?" Riven asked and gestured behind them where a effeminate child and a dude holding a deck spoke to each other loudly.

"Oh that's Adrian and Sam." Castro scoffed

Riven smiled at everyone as they go show him around, but Red felt a little uneasy, as if Riven has been watching her.

"Guys, I shall be right back, gotta go to the bar!" Red smiled and left.

"Bar?" Riven asked once more

"You have a lot of questions." Stephen stated.

"She runs a bar/café with Syamil, but anyway, so you can stay here, in this block, feel free to contact us anytime." Alex explained "Chris give him his stuff."

"So here you go, keys, rape-whistle and ID card for entrance to the town whenever you leave." Chris smiled as he handed Riven the items.

"Be careful" Gabo warned

"Yeah" Castro added "Not everyone in the town is friendly, but we happen to cope."

"Just try not to cause trouble." Syamil added

"Well you're settled, we have to go now. It's getting dark. It's never safe at Dark." Justin concluded as they all leave for their respected homes.

"Oh I don't plan to..." Riven smiled as he closed his door and watched them walk away. "Not just yet..." he stared to the soft emitting light coming from the bar.

"And so it begins."

The guild has been awful quiet recently. At its prime, SIL has had multiple consecutive lobby games going, with a total of around 30-50 active consecutive players at a time. We have observed that the The International 5 Compendium has changed this. To get our guild up and running once more, we have come up with an idea that will hopefully pique your interest.

Introducing "Fame and Fortune", a MVP system where the players decide who performed the best within their respective games. What's in it for you? Glory. Multiple instances of glory and recognition by your fellow guildmates, and the Treasure of the Nested Cache at the end of the MVP rainbow.

SIL-IXDL Private League

As the guild has gone a little inactive in this few weeks, we have decided to rent an IXDL server. We had this server running for few weeks, and only will last for a month unless we decide to continue it. This is an experiment to test run the crowd and dedication to host and play within our guild, before The International 5 and SIL Season 2. Our fund can only support a 25-users server in IXDL currently, and remember this is an experimental league.


As you can see above, we have a list of familiar names in the server. If you are interested in joining us, please leave us a comment or contact any of the available admins in the guild. We are currently full, but we will try our best to make some slots for most members to try it out. To expand the user slots need some funding, and we are in the midst of settling that. Please be considerate on this issue.

As we had a quite successful run on our first tournament, SIL Season 1 Captain's Draft, we will come up with the next install – SIL Season 2. Concrete details will not be released too soon but Season 2 will definitely come after The International 5 and we expect it to arrive on early September 2015. We would like to invite all interested participants to start gathering your teammates and form a solid team before the next exciting season comes.

With 2 more months to go, this allows us to have more time to #polish our final deets and please expect the better from us. We will strive to be the best.

May 3, 2015 - SIL Captain's Draft Season 1 has a minor or some would say major to you. Lower Bracket updated as APEX ALPHA PREDATORS or AAP has dropped out from the second phase of SIL Captain's Draft Season 1. Due to this, we have contacted Supreme Leader on the replacement but they are unable to make to the brackets. As they can't make it, we have decided to get the team just below Supreme Leader in the standings. Croutons+4 will be replacing AAP from now on.

This change also made us realise we should reconsider the standings and brackets. As above shown, there are minor changes on the team matchups but games will still go on. We have posted on our subreddit regarding scheduling too. Teams do check it out.


The upper bracket remains unchanged. In fact, we will have a match tonight. Midas or Feed vs. YX FANBOYS from the upper bracket at 9PM (Sunday) in a best of 3 format. You may watch the matches over on DotaTV under Amateur and find "SIL Captain's Draft Season 1".

Publicise Your Steam Profile

April 7, 2015 - As the title suggested, all SIL Season 1 Captain's Draft participants MUST publicise their Steam profile before and during the tournament. This allows the admins to moderate and inspect all the players submitted to our system. We wouldn't want any weird gimmick like unauthorised players being played in the matches or banned players.

Failures to do so will be punished or even get disqualified from the tournament. We take this matter seriously. As that being said, we urge every single participants especially team captains to read our SIL Season 1 Captain's Draft Rules clearly. We will not let any rules breaker through.
